How does sleep work?

How does sleep work?Circadian Process: (Nature)
Sunlight passing through the eye stimulates the brain to suppress Melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone the brain secretes to make you feel sleepy. When the sun sets, darkness allows Melatonin to be secreted.

Homeostatic Process: (Body)
The waste product of glucose (sugar) is called adenosine. This waste product builds throughout the day and makes you feel tired. You can block the accumulation of adenosine by consuming caffeine. This makes you feel more awake.
