Dr. Amber Loyson joined the MacKoul Pediatrics practice in 2014; we are very fortunate to have this talented and caring doctor on our team.
Dr. Loyson graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. Honors Spanish and B.S. Honors Human Biology. She completed her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, receiving her M.D. degree May 2011. She went on to complete a General Pediatric Residency at the University of Florida, Shands Children’s Hospital, in Gainesville Florida.
During her education and training, Dr. Loyson received many prestigious awards and recognition including:
- The American Academy of Pediatrics Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Award, a national award recognizing outstanding efforts of pediatricians in training working in their communities to improve the health of children.
- A. Gordon Adams Scholarship, recognizing a student who has expressed interest in primary care with documented leadership in civic and community activities.
- The William B. Weil Jr. Scholarship awarded to a student expressing interest in primary care and has made a significant contribution to child care and development.
- The Donald F. Waterman Pediatric Student Fellowship given to a medical student with enthusiasm and an interest in caring for children.
In addition to her impressive education, awards and scholarships, Dr. Loyson has volunteered her time for many worthy and in need populations including Rays of Hope for Haiti Medical Supplies Sorting volunteer, Reach out and Read, Lansing, Michigan’s Project Homeless Connect Physical Exam volunteer, MSU Campus Civitian Soup Kitchen volunteer and El Mundo Divertido Summer Hispanic Day Camp volunteer.
In her spare time you’ll find Dr. Loyson gardening, swimming, attending garage sales discovering unique and special treasures, and baking cakes and treats for friends and family. Please help us welcome Dr. Loyson to our Cape Coral community!
